HAFC supports financially disadvantaged adults in the Hunter who have innovative ideas to start micro businesses/start-ups or achieve self-employment through our mentoring programs.
Are you keen to start a micro business or a business start-up? We can help!
Whether you want to be self-employed in a micro business, start a small business from home or start a business that employs others, HAFC can help you move your ideas into reality through supporting you to:
- create a business plan
- obtain an Australian Business Number
- apply for an Australian tax file number
Through business mentoring, HAFC can support you in other small business areas including:
- marketing and social media
- identifying relevant training and education
- advising on necessary materials and equipment
and anything else that might get you on your way.

Our HAFC mentors work one on one with applicants to find suitable employment for them.
We can assist you to:
- prepare and/or review your resume
- get ready for interviews
- identify relevant training
- strategise to support you to find a job in your chosen field.

- an unemployed or under-employed hunter resident, refugee/migrant
- living in the Hunter region of NSW
- be 18 years or over
